Synod consultation


 
It seems a long time since many of us filled in the questionnaire in preparation for the Synod on the Family. Many of us were surprised that our bishops failed to publish the results of this consultation, claiming they had received a directive from the Synod secretariat not to do so. I assumed that the results would then be published after the Synod. But, unless I have missed something, nothing was published. I fail to grasp the reason for this continued delay. I would have thought that the publication of the results would promote the constructive dialogue started by the Vatican.  (The questionnaire was fairly clumsy, but was at least the first attempt by the Church to listen to where people are, rather than where the authorities think they should be.)
