Assisted Dying Bill


 
Is it not about time society stopped allowing the tail to wag the dog? Legislation has been enacted in recent decades out of sympathy for disparate minorities which has had destructive effects on society as a whole (“Questionable tactics”, 15 November)First there was the reform of the divorce laws: long overdue, for as they stood, they were farcical. The result: too easy divorce with sometimes sad effects on the children. Then there were the abortion acts: much needed, arguably, as previously, with back-street mangling, it seemed as if murder was being connived at. The result: abortion on demand. Today we are faced with a bill trying to deal with the problems of an ageing population.This concerns my age group (I am 98). I am indeed blessed as I enjoy good health and the loving
