Can we resolve divisions over Brexit?


 

The Juxtaposition of your two editorials on Brexit and the First World War (17 November) reawoke in me the shame I’ve felt being English in the face of Brexit. Yes, we have to pray that those who died in the First World War did not die in vain. I’d say also for those like my great uncle Johnny. I’m now 70 and I remember Johnny when I was a child. Johnny lost half his face in the war and lived in a sort of seclusion with his sister, great aunt Katy, who lost her man in that same war.
