Since most news reports about priests these days are negative, may I offer a recent magazine report from Syria, about Jesuit priest Frans van der Lugt. He refused to leave when rebels captured Homs in 2012, providing prayer and healing throughout the occupation. Doors of his house were open to all, Christian or Muslim, on condition that guns were left outside the front door.
