I take up Bishop John Crowley’s invitation to think what value diversity would bring to a radical re-imaging of priesthood (Letters, 29 September). Is not our model Jesus and his followers? He did not create a priesthood, let alone one based on a privileged hierarchy, and a table barring women and other “outsiders”.
