Our first task is not to ask for financial help but to stir people’s hearts to embrace the mission to which we are all called, locally and internationally. For example, we tell people what is happening in Cambodia: how the Church is growing and how it is reaching out to those in need; or about the church our supporters helped displaced people to build in a refugee camp on the Thai border with Myanmar. These refugees, many of whom are Catholic, are familiar with suffering, having been driven from their homes by a brutal military dictatorship, with very little hope of returning. They have lost everything but longed to have a church of their own as a place to celebrate God’s presence in their midst, and by God’s grace and with some help from Missio they managed it.
