More than 40 years ago, in 1981, I saw a tiny classified ad in The Tablet for a lecture entitled, “Can Investment be Ethical?” I’d just started a career in the City, working in investment management, and went along out of curiosity. I came away hooked, and said to myself, one day I will work in this field. Some 12 years later, frustrated because I couldn’t find any detailed books on the subject, I had a brainwave – I would write one myself.
