Another famous US president with even stronger Scottish Presbyterian roots could hardly have been more different from Donald Trump in his religious or political outlook. Woodrow Wilson’s maternal grandfather was a Scottish Presbyterian minister who emigrated to the US in the late 1830s.
The Trumps worshipped at the First Presbyterian Church in Jamaica, near their home in the Queens district of New York. It was here that young Donald attended Sunday School, taking with him the Bible that his mother gave him in 1955 and that his third wife Melania held during his recent presidential inauguration.
