Two celebrations but one God

The coincidence of Passover and Easter is the perfect time to celebrate the shared roots of Judaism and Christianity, so effectively nourished by Nostra Aetate, the Vatican II document which appeared 50 years ago Just before Easter I led a small group of Christians and Jews to Rome on a pilgrimage to the Vatican. Each of us was committed to our faith but also valued the relationship with one another. I organised the visit as I felt it symbolised the transformation in Christian-Jewish Relations in the last 50 years. And so it did.This year, Good Friday falls at the same time as the beginning of Passover, which for Jews is especially auspicious as it coincides with the Sabbath.
