IF YOU BELIEVE spectators are integral to sport more than television money, sport is in disarray. Those who believe football’s Euros, the Olympics and so on will somehow take place as normal this summer are surely guilty of wishful thinking. And as for taking part in sport, without crack teams of medics weighed down with bags of PPE and Covid tests, it’s just not possible. For this reason, we need to look elsewhere for our sport. This I have done by acquiring a puppy. The role football played in my life, for good and ill, is now filled by a puppy called Tito.
