St Louis is a co-educational grammar school for pupils aged 11 to 19. It was established as a convent in 1924 by the Sisters of St Louis with the aim of educating Catholic girls, and began taking boys in 1970. St Louis is selective and government-funded, with a third of pupils coming from Ballymena and the rest from the surrounding area.
