Michael Walsh has written for The Tablet since the early 1970s, for a number of years as its television critic, and was invited to compile the history of the paper to mark its 150th anniversary.  In his day job he was for thirty years the Librarian at Heythrop College and review editor, then editor, of The Heythrop Journal. He has broadcast frequently on Vatican or, more specifically, papal events, and, apart from The Tablet history he has written, edited or translated some two dozen books, including several updates of The Oxford Dictionary of Popes and a translation of St Oscar Romero’s pastoral letters, The Voice of the Voiceless.  His current project is a history of the Society of Jesus of which, from 1955 to 1975, he was a member.

Elena Curti worked as a journalist in newspapers, radio and television before joining The Tablet in 2001. She served first as Home News Editor then, for more than a decade, as Deputy Editor. She left in 2016 to go freelance and now specialises in writing about church architecture and conservation. Her book, Fifty Catholic Churches to See Before You Die, was published last October by Gracewing and has sold well over 1,000 copies to date

If you would like to order a copy of Fifty Catholic Churches to See Before You Die simply Click Here and when asked for a promotional code type in TABLETFIFTYCATHOLICCHURCHES and you will save 10% off the normal price of £14.99 - you'll only pay £13.50!
