Join our distinguished guests for this year’s Tablet Lenten reflection series where we focus on some of the Roman Catholic sacraments. The webinars for this series will be spread over four weeks as follows:
Wednesday 28 February – The Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation. Join Fr Anthony Chantry, Missio’s National Director in England and Wales, as he talks to us about Baptism which brings the new life of Christ, and Confirmation which strengthens the new life of Christ. Fr Anthony will share his reflection from his experience of being a missionary overseas and the former General Superior of the Mill Hill Missionaries. 
Wednesday 6 March – The Sacrament of Marriage – What binds Marriage? Join Fr Tim Buckley C.Ss.R- a parish priest of Bishop Eton and St Mary’s. He gained an MA in Christian Spirituality from Creighton University, Omaha, USA, and has a doctorate from Heythrop College, London University. His thesis on the pastoral care of Catholics who experience marital breakdown was published in 1997 under the title, What Binds Marriage? – Roman Catholic Theology in Practice.
Wednesday 13 March – The Sacrament of Holy Orders - through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time. Join Maggie Fergusson, the deputy editor of The Tablet, and Fr Roderick Strange, an ordained priest of the Catholic Diocese of Shrewsbury, and one of the Catholic chaplains at Oxford University from 1977 to 1989 and from 1998 to 2015 Rector of the Pontifical Beda College in Rome, a college that prepares older men from the English-speaking world for priestly ordination, as they discuss the sacrament of apostolic ministry.
Wednesday 20 March – The Sacrament of the Sick - By the sacred anointing of the sick and the prayer of the priests the whole Church commends those who are ill to the suffering and glorified Lord, that he may raise them up and save them and indeed exhorts them to contribute to the good of the People of God by freely uniting themselves to the Passion and death of Christ. Join Maggie Fergusson, The Tablet’s deputy editor, for this Lenten conversation with Fr Alban McCoy OFM Conv, a British Catholic writer and priest, and Sue Gaisford, a travel writer and broadcaster, as they discuss the sacrament of the sick and why it is a visible sign of God’s presence, God’s activity in our lives, in the Church and in our world.All webinars are from 6–7 pm GMT
