The Tablet, in conjunction with Downside School, invites you to join us on Tuesday 26 November 2019 at the historic Farm Street Church in Mayfair, for an evening of debate and discussion around the purpose and nature of Catholic education today.

 

Our panel of distinguished speakers for the evening includes:

Father Timothy Radcliffe
Father Timothy is an Old Gregorian, Roman Catholic priest, Dominican friar of the English Province and former Master of the Order of Preachers from 1992 to 2001. He is the only member of the English Province of the Dominicans to have held the office since the Order's foundation in 1216. He was appointed by Pope Francis as a consultor for the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace in 2015.

He is also the author of several award-winning books including What is the Point of Being a Christian?, Why Go to Church? The Drama of the Eucharist and Stations of the Cross.

Peter Stanford
Peter is a British writer, editor, journalist and presenter, known for his biographies and writings on religion and ethics. His biography of Lord Longford was the basis for the 2006 BAFTA-winning film Longford  starring Jim Broadbent in the title role. A former editor of the Catholic Herald newspaper, Stanford is also director of the Longford Trust for prison reform.
 
Peter is a regular contributor to The Tablet.

Rachel Kelly
Rachel Kelly is a British author and mental health advocate. She has worked as a journalist at The Times, and is the author of the books Black Rainbow, Walking on Sunshine, The Happy Kitchen and Singing in the Rain.
