Christopher Lamb is a British journalist who is the Rome Correspondent for The Tablet. He is a contributor to the Vatican Insider page of La Stampa and a regular commentator for the BBC on Vatican and religious affairs.

Christopher studied Theology at Durham University and then completed a postgraduate diploma in journalism at the London College of Communication. Before joining The Tablet he worked at The Daily Telegraph.


Rev Dr Nick Austin SJ
Fr Nick is the Master of Campion Hall, Oxford and Senior Fellow in Theological Ethics. A Jesuit priest and spiritual director who teaches moral theology. His current research area is in moral discernment as understood by St Ignatius and brought to prominence by Pope Francis. Sr Jolanda Kafka RMI Sr Jolanda is Superior General of the Sisters of Mary Immaculate – Claretian Missionaries, and the current President of the International Union of Superiors General (UISG). Her work has been primarily in the areas of religious formation and education and she has been a member of her congregation's general council since 2000. She has a licentiate in theology and has worked on the beatification cause for Sr. Maria Antonia Paris, the 19th-century Catalonian founder of her order.   

Dr Sr Gemma Simmonds CJ
Sr Gemma belongs to the Congregation of Jesus and is Senior Research Fellow and Director of the Religious Life Institute at the Margaret Beaufort Institute of Theology in Cambridge. Sr Gemma was previously Senior Lecturer in Pastoral Theology at Heythrop College (2005-18) and President of the Catholic Theological Association of Great Britain. She is known internationally as a speaker and an author, and has been a spiritual director, retreat giver, and lecturer for almost three decades. Sr Gemma has extensive experience on the ground, having worked as a prison and university chaplain, and has been involved in religious and priestly formation internationally since 1993.     

Sr Jane Bertelsen FMDM
Congregational Leader of the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood, an international Congregation present in 10 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe. Sr Jane has been a member of the congregation, whose primary ministry is one of presence within the local community wherever they are sent, since 1977.

A qualified teacher, she was involved in education in both New Zealand and Australia before being asked to take formation responsibilities in the Australian Region of the Congregation in 1989. She was called to leadership in the Congregation initially in Australia in 1999 and then in England from 2002 before being elected to the Congregational Leadership Team in 2007 and became Congregational Leader in 2013.

Jane has been involved in safeguarding work since the late 90’s when she was in pastoral ministry in Melbourne, Australia. She served as vice-chair (representing Religious Life) of the National Catholic Safeguarding Commission in England/Wales from 2007-2013 and in 2018, Pope Francis nominated Sr. Jane as a member of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors.   

Sr Lynda Dearlove RSM
Born in Middlesbrough, she was educated by the FCJs before reading Microbiology at Kent University, followed by a second degree in Social Policy Administration at Lancaster University.

She joined the Institute of Our Lady of Mercy and took her final vows in 1989. She has always been dedicated to serving women involved in street based prostitution and victims of trafficking, managing the Dellow Day Centre in East London before founding women@thewell in 2006.

Sr Lynda is a trustee of the National Alliance of Women’s Organisations (NAWO), and through them links on behalf of the women of England with the European Women’s Lobby. She is an active member of WNC (Women’s National Commission) and has sat on their Violence Against Women Working Group, the International Advisory Group and Olympics Working Group.

She was awarded an MBE in the 2011 New Year’s Honours List, in recognition of over 20 years’ work on behalf of vulnerable and disadvantaged women. She is currently Vice Chair of Trustees for Caritas Social Action Network (CSAN)

Fr Laurence freeman OSB
Fr Laurence is a member of the Benedictine Congregation of Monte Oliveto Maggiore. He was Educated by the Benedictines and studied English Literature at New College, Oxford University. Before entering monastic life, he worked with the United Nations in New York, in Banking and Journalism. He is Director of The World Community for Christian Meditation (WCCM) a global, inclusive contemplative community.

Fr. Laurence is the author of a number of books on Christian Meditation. He travels extensively giving presentations and leading Christian Meditation Retreats.
