It's is remarkable how powerful is the imagery of his white robes, even lacking the pellegrina. This whole mess could have been avoided had Benedict stepped out of the Vatican the day of his resignation wearing the robes of a cardinal. He should also sign everything +Joseph Ratzinger. Benedict p.p. "died" the day he abdicated.
