YOU NEVER know who you’re going to bump into. The shadows were lengthening and I’d paused by a gate when a powder blue dragonfly powered past. I’m always moved by the sight of a dragonfly. Perhaps it’s because they’re so ancient. Their basic design remains unchanged from when they were flying over the carboniferous forests 300 million years ago; although those
dragonflies were about the size of a small dog. Perhaps it’s because their life is so fragile.
