Aargh! I’d lost my phone. Where could it be? I definitely still had it when I stopped to photograph a field full of dandelions twenty minutes ago. Turning the bike around, I retraced my steps. Back at the dandelion field, I dropped to my hands and knees and began searching. I was so intent on the task, that at first I didn’t see the barn owl perched on the fence post no more than twenty yards away. And the barn owl didn’t see me – it was too busy listening to the scurry of voles in the long grass below.
