It’s not every day that you get to share your lockdown walk with hundreds of visitors from deepest Fenno-Scandinavia, the vast northern peninsula of land comprising parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland and north-west Russia. The large contingent from that frozen area was the flock of fieldfares and redwings that I met today as I was walking along the bridleway.
