I have always loved this hill. Two sycamores stand on its summit like a pair of windmills; a small herd of shorthorn cattle graze the steep sides all year long. And now my favourite knoll has become even more beautiful – it’s turned blue. The harebells are in bloom. Until now, I’d only found small harebell colonies growing locally: in a few drystone walls, along a green lane and from the limestone cliffs of Sutton Bank. Now an entire landscape has been washed blue.
