These glorious days of early July belong to those who love to stroll, amble, saunter, mosey, potter. As well as often being too hot do anything else, it’s also by far the best way to enjoy the unique gift of this time: midsummer grassland. Although we’ve lost most of our proper flower-rich hay meadows, at this time of year any patch of long grass is bursting with slow-moving, surprising beauty.
