I find it deeply relaxing to water trees. If you’re filling your containers at a natural source, you start with the bubbling rhythm of the spring or stream. But even water from a tap has its own fine tempo, cooling touch and scent. Then there’s the heft and weight of the water itself. That reminds you how important the task is – watering saplings that might live for centuries. And then there are those you meet on the way.
