What does autumn sound like? For days, all I could hear was the tug of restless winds and the tap-tapping rain. Then, there was a suddenly fine afternoon, so I hurried from the house to further sample the soundtrack of deep autumn. I’d soon found one of the late season’s finest tunes. An oak was shedding its ochre leaves.
