Keeping up with the accusations against Pope Francis is making me sick
Flee from women and bishops” was the sage advice John Cassian gave his monks. Most of us are not monks, and Cassian’s view of women deserves a treatment of its own, but it’s hard not to feel that giving bishops and their affairs a wide berth may be a good defence of spiritual sanity just at the moment.
