Did you notice last month the publication of a government document entitled Industrial Strategy: Building a Britain fit for the future?
You can be forgiven if you didn’t. “Brexitology” is the dominant factor in our unfolding political science to such an overwhelming degree at the moment that it drowns out almost all else.
Yet, if it comes anywhere near reaching its core aim, the new industrial strategy will be of immense and enduring significance in the post-Brexit life of the nation. Its ambition is breathtaking.
