Our honeymoon with technology has ended, and ended badly.
Not quite finding-the-hidden-room-in-Bluebeard’s-castle badly – at least for now – but we’re disenchanted all the same. The clever little devices that promised to deliver our hearts’ desires have instead, in a trajectory familiar to every reader of fairy tales, sent us into transports of misery, distraction and disquiet.
