In her twelfth book, Nigella Lawson (pictured) gloriously combines 150 recipes with “condensed chronicles” of what cooking means to her. “The recipes I write come from my life, my home. They tell a story and that story is mine. I could not tell another’s.”
So it is that this meandering cookbook is split into unconventional sections on her favourite ingredients – “A is for Anchovies”, “Rhubarb” and the somewhat unconvincing “A Loving Defence of Brown Food”. There’s also a handy crib sheet on which dishes freeze well.
