Renowned evangelical enfant terrible Steve Chalke offers a new perspective on the New Perspective on Paul (NPP) in this readable and controversial book that seeks to explore the apostle’s mindset from the perspective of Second Temple Judaism. Progressing from controversy to controversy – salvation by faith in Christ is a mistranslation, he argues, and hell is a late invention by the Church – Chalke proclaims “nothing short of a revolution” for Christianity.

One might argue it is a slow-burning revolution, given that the NPP, from which he borrows heavily, has been a trend in theology since the 1970s.
