The Muse is a bitch. She comes and goes at whim. No one would acknowledge this more readily than the remarkable Polish/Canadian poet Marius Kociejowski, whose painfully slender Collected Poems (Carcanet, £12.99; Tablet price £11.69 ) is recently published. He hasn’t written a poem in a decade. He is not expecting a visit any time soon. So let’s cherish what we have.
