Oleg Gordievsky was studying at the Institute of International Relations (“the Russian Harvard”), when he was recruited into the KGB – joining “with wholehearted commitment and sincerity”. Upon graduating, he was posted under diplomatic cover to Copenhagen. There he offered his services to the British secret service, MI6.
