Mokhtar Alkhanshali is a young Yemeni American from a large, poor, immigrant family. Working as a doorman in a residential building for the super-rich in San Francisco, he dreams of creating a new business, importing coffee from Yemen, the land of its origin, and selling it in the US. Everything is against him: he has no money, little education and Yemen itself is descending into civil war.
