Fr Stan Swamy SJ, a prominent and popular human rights activist, was arrested by India's National Investigation Agency for alleged Maoist links on October 8. He is still in prison, in spite of his poor health and his age, 83. Fr Swamy has worked for five decades for the marginalised, downtrodden and other vulnerable communities, especially the indigenous people in Jharkhand, India. The Tablet reported his arrest, and a recent protest in London. In our latest podcast, Fr Damian Howard, provincial of the Jesuits in Britain, explains the injustice of his incarceration and how we can help.
