Qamar Rafiq is a human rights advocate and a freelance writer. For more than a decade, Qamar has promoted the freedom of religion or belief and championed the rights of faith communities. He works on the subjects of religion, politics and global society with a specific focus, on the persecution of ethnic and religious minorities worldwide. Qamar has made an oral and written submission to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the British Parliament, and the government forums on the issues of religious minorities. In addition, Qamar has also presented his report to the Bishop of Truro’s review commissioned by the FCO and has frequently written in various newspapers and international blogs.
