Brian Fraga is a staff reporter for the National Catholic Reporter, covering the Catholic Church in the United States. He was previously a contributing editor for Our Sunday Visitor, where he also covered news impacting the Catholic Church. Brian has written for several Catholic publications over the last decade. Besides The Tablet, he has written for US Catholic Magazine, Legatus Magazine, the Boston Pilot, Columbia Magazine, Catholic News Service, the Rhode Island Catholic and the National Catholic Register. Brian has been a newspaper reporter for 20 years, the bulk of that as a reporter for local newspapers in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts and New Mexico, where he covered mostly police and courts, local government, sports, religion and human interest features. He has won several awards for his news coverage from the Society of Professional Journalists, the New England Newspaper and Press Association and the Catholic Media Association.
