So it’s a relief that the second half of Lloyd’s Shakespearean double bill at the cavernous Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Much Ado About Nothing, features two faces from the Marvel movie and TV franchise, Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell, speaking the verse with ­flexibility and intelligence

Lloyd’s general approach – miked actors standing up from bucket chairs on a largely bare stage, as if at a rehearsal, to deliver a heavily edited text – remains unchanged and brings gains and losses.
