“Flight Pattern”, its dancers dressed throughout in grey costumes by Nancy Bryant, remains as the new ballet’s first act.
The company is dancing at the children’s service, while allowing them to lead – with great confidence, sweetly and effectively – against a backdrop of reflective light designed by Tom Visser. The dancers lift, hold the young, barely touch each other, generate human bridges and cover the floor like a carpet that creeps almost imperceptibly.
