The Dropout

The apparently bottomless well of programmes about real-life con artists, scammers or frauds was further plumbed this week in The Dropout, which tells the extraordinary story of Elizabeth Holmes and her company Theranos, once worth billions and now exposed as a sham.
For those who have forgotten the details: Holmes, an 18-year-old dropout from Stanford University, set up Theranos in 2003, claiming to have invented a breakthrough system for blood-testing without injections, using machines that could be rolled out in every local pharmacy.
