Fabergé in London: Romance to Revolution

There is nothing quite as showy as a Fabergé show, nor as likely to bring in the crowds. The Victoria & Albert Museum’s latest exhibition, “Fabergé in London” (to 8 May 2022), is the third display of the Russian jeweller that the institution has put on and, like its predecessors, will probably be a big ticket. It certainly has a winning combination of exquisite craftsmanship, surprise, priceless jewels and tragedy: many of the exhibits are linked to the doomed last Tsar of Russia, his wife Alexandra and their five children – executed in 1917.
