Money Talks
Channel 4
Channel 4’s Money Talks (5 and 12 July) offered an interesting if unfocused ramble around the tricky subject of money. Leading the way was presenter Kathy Burke (inset), cockney character actress and national treasure. Burke was brought up in poverty but now, “with a few quid in the bank”, lives with the freedom that “money to spare” gives. She thinks it was “easier” to be poor in the ’60s and ’70s. She also thinks, perhaps predictably, that the rot started with Thatcher.
