The Living Record Festival

With Glastonbury cancelled for the second year running, and the deferred 2021 Summer Olympics now looking as doomed as the 2020 games, this also seems likely to be another year without an Edinburgh Festival.
But a strong suggestion of the likely solution comes from Living Record, billed as “an original Digital Multi-Arts Festival”, which, for a month until 22 February, offers 40 video or audio performances on a site with a festival template – a “Foyer” section where the works are advertised, a “Box Office” (tickets around £3-£6 per show), and a “Bar” chatroom where work can be discussed with other attendees.
Like the Edinburgh Fringe, it’s a lucky/ unlucky dip, taking gambles based on promotional info, with the safest route recognisable material, such as an adaptation of John Buchan’s The 39 Steps.
