Lose a Stone in 21 Days with Michael Mosley
Channel 4
Shedding two stone, seeing off his type 2 diabetes diagnosis and becoming the guru of the 5:2 diet, with all its attendant cookbook spinoffs, means former BBC science producer and presenter Michael Mosley (inset) is now so famous he gets his name in the title of his new series.
Now slim and crisp and, with his somewhat military bearing, always energetically to the point, Mosley carries an authentic aura of kind but firm authority. “I’ve been looking at the data,” he barks at the six tubsters (none of whom are more than averagely portly) who had given themselves up for this experiment in urgent weight loss and are gathered, two metres apart, in his well-appointed garden. And viewer, he’s looking at you (well, certainly at me), sunk into the sofa, chubby fingers hovering over a bag of crisps. Furthermore, as it seems that obesity and diabetes make you more vulnerable to Covid, then we all need to wake up and smell the skinny latte.
