The title promises something epic, an elemental battle of wills in the manner of Alien vs Predator, or, more terrifying still, Joan Crawford vs Bette Davis. It is one of the defining rivalries of tennis, which culminated in the memorable ding-dong of the Wimbledon men’s final in 1980. That match contained as much excitement and edge-of-the-seat tension as the heart could stand.
