Religious groups are lining up to support the deal negotiated by Secretary of State John Kerry and other foreign diplomats with Iran, designed to curb that nation’s nuclear ambitions, writes Michael Sean Winters. The US Congress is debating whether to support the deal.
“The United States and its international partners have taken a remarkable step with Iran in reaching this agreement,” wrote Bishop Oscar Cantú, chairman of the US Bishops’ Conference Committee on International Justice and Peace, in a letter to all members of Congress.
