Amnesty’s prostitution call deplored


Catholic groups around Europe have bitterly criticised last week’s call by Amnesty International (AI) for the legalisation of prostitution, writes Jonathan Luxmoore. “This is outrageous – with such initiatives, AI doesn’t deserve to be called a human rights organisation,” said Sr Lea Ackermann, a German nun who heads the SOLWODI and SOLGIDI associations helping “women and girls in distress”.
