Catholics reject same-sex amendments

The head of Ukraine’s Greek Catholic Church has denounced plans to allow same-sex partnerships in his country under a series of constitutional amendments, writes Jonathan Luxmoore. “These provisions pose a serious threat to the family as an institution in Ukraine, and to marriage as a union of man and woman, traditional in our society,” said Major Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk of Kiev-Halych. “They threaten to push the Ukrainian state into an abyss.”
