MANY HERE ARE hoping that Pope Francis may have turned a corner when it comes to his handling of the clerical sexual abuse crisis.

Last weekend he hosted three Chilean abuse survivors at his Casa Santa Marta residence, spending almost seven hours in separate one-to-one meetings with them. He had invited them to his home to ask for their forgiveness, to listen to each of their stories and hear their recommendations for future action. No time limit was put around the encounters.
