Like every other man who lives down here [on earth]: I live with the grace of good physical health, with a little common sense for me to see things early and clear, with disposition for the love of others that keeps me faithful to the law of the Gospel, with respect of my right and the right of others that prevent me from hurting anyone: all this encourages me to do good to all. I come from a humble background and was educated in blessed poverty, which has few needs, protects the flourishing of the noblest and highest virtues, and prepares the high ascents of life. Providence brought me forth from my native village and made me walk the streets of the world in the East and in the West, approaching people of different religions and ideologies; put me in contact with threatening social probl
