It is essential for clergy and those they serve to learn how to  make the time for recreation in its fullest sense. Without it, a healthy, flourishing community is almost impossisble to maintain OVER NEARLY 30 years of ordained ministry, I see in myself – as in many clergy across traditions and cultures – serious signs of ageing. I would like to take it for wisdom, but in reality it is a deep sense of working harder and harder to keep the show on the road without letting anyone know how much it is costing. I do not want to make assumptions about other people’s experience, but I can reflect on my own. On any external analysis, this has been a really fruitful three decades of ministry.
