Foretaste of the heavenly banquet

The Lord gave many of his most powerful illustrations of divine love when dining with people from all walks of life. Food is central to God’s plan for the faithful, and it is fitting to build the Christian life around it According to a friend of mine, the road to Heaven is paved with pork pies. He is a baker by trade and he uses the gifts and skills he has to make a valuable contribution to the social life of the parish for its monthly get-together.
