Secular Franciscans attempt to model their lives as closely as possible on Christ in such a way that their preaching is more by example than through words, and they respond to human needs as they find them In his Canticle of Creatures, St Francis recognised the sacredness of all Creation; the intimate relationship and inter­dependence within the created order (Brother Sun, Sister Moon, Mother Earth ... ). The Secular Franciscan Order is a community of Catholic men and women “in the world” who seek to pattern their lives after Christ in the spirit of St Francis of Assisi.
